UNITED PAGAN ALLIED NETWORK REACHES OUT TO CONQUER NEGATIVE STEREOTYPES-by Robyn Disney, The Oracle (U. South Florida), U-Wire, Excite News (11/19/99)

(U-WIRE) TAMPA, Fla. -- When the United Pagan Allied Network participated in the University of South Florida's Homecoming parade, the members were wary about being accepted by the crowd that lined Maple.

The members lined their pickup truck with cellophane and shaped it like a flame. Some members sat in the bed of the truck in a drum circle, while five dancers, who represented the five elements - earth, air, water, fire and spirit - walked alongside. The dancers threw coins with pentagrams drawn on them.

But they received little attention from the unamused crowd.
